25 years ago, Mongolian astronaut Mr. Gurragchaa traveled to outer space. That
gave Mongolia the chance to be the 10th country in the world to send their astronaut
into outer space, the 20th country to bring their projects into space and 5th
in the world to conduct a number of surveys and measurements. The 25th anniversary
of the first Mongolian to travel to space and combined flight of a Russian and
Mongolian astronaut shall be celebrated this year. That’s why the Prime
Minister of Mongolia, Mr. Enkhbold, has given the Minister of defense, Mr. Sonompil,
the job of heading up the anniversary celebrating commission. Russian astronaut
Mr. Janebekov as well as 5 important space related personnel will be invited.
